Happy new year! I’m already fucking sick of 2026! Shit sucks! I swear I have no idea how I’m gonna get through the forseeable future with my mind intact.
So how was your New Years? Mine was nice. Went to my friends and ate myself silly on nachos with homemade ground taco beef with queso with jalapeno bacon sausage. We also watched some Samurai Pizza Cats, Kamen Rider, and tuned in for some of Anime Hell! Due to eating way too much and having very little sleep the night before I wound up leaving my friend’s place a little past midnight as I started developing a headache.
After that I spent most of my long weekend staying in bed as much as possible to get the most out of my last weekend without being bogged down by huge amounts of comic work. Not to say I didn’t do ANYTHING during the weekend. I did get some writing done! Plus storyboarded this week’s Kat episode, Question #12! I’m actually almost done with the episode, too! In fact, I finished tonight’s Bodysuit 23 page yesterday! An entire day early! Helped that there wasn’t that many panels nor were the panels complicated. Finished inking at doodle club monday and colored at work with time to spare! I only have two more storyboards left for B23 in my backlog so I need to get back on that.

Oh no… what happened with Elaine? (I know we’ll probably find out soon, but the whole trope of people looking sad or depressed and then smiling saying “It’s fine” or “it’s great” is really old and lowkey annoying. Not that I mind, I mean I stayed through all 894 pages prior to this, I’m too deep to back out now.) But no seriously, did she like get there and find out that they’re not creative-focused and it’s all about trying to get her to follow a trend instead of being the trend setter?
Or was it just a really scummy place that tried to take advantage of her by stealing her concepts, marking them as their own, and then stealing not only her ideas but the money and attention that came with it? Because there are some real fuck-ass people like that.
Her saying “I don’t” in the last one means she isn’t even listening properly.
Sounds like she got scammed out of her money. She went, it was completely against expectations, probably a pretentious design school that didn’t value stuff like anime cosplay stuff, but instead was all about runway stuff.
That or she’s stonewalling Doris because she’s lost trust due to whole Doris/Kevin thing.
“I don’t” would be a grammatically correct response to the question “[Do you have any pictures of] the campus”.
Right, but not the current question. Meaning she walled off on the last question.
Oh I reread the comic itself and see what you’re saying. Still it’s definitely wrong here.
To me it seems like it was for her like it was for Lily in San Fransisco from How I met your mother (the true version that is) She found out she wasn’t really that talented and got thrown out of the program, and the people of the city was really wierd.
She comes back home, hoping to catch up with Kevin who she miss, and secretly have a crush on, but instead she runs into that weird girl Doris, that creeps her out in a way that she can’t quite put her finger on and wont ever admit to, but she defidently don’t want to talk to her about heavy stuff, so she just shots up, and goes into conversation destruction mode by answering every question with a single word
Aaaagh, now I’m having to read the entire plot summary of How I Met Your Mother!
