Sorry for the delay but here’s a brand new page! Owen’s back in the comic for the first time since December 2023! His last appearance that wasn’t a one panel bit was in chapter 38 which finished November 2022! Holy damn that’s a long time!

To summarize what I was GONNA write in the blog post last week, basically I hit burnout due to a combination of factors. Hell week took a huge toll, it was still busy at the start of last week, Cooper is gone on his annual summer vacation so I haven’t been able to get feedback on anything, and Kat failed to make it to the shortlist in the webtoons 2025 contest which was a punch in the gut. Overall a very mentally exhausting couple of weeks where I fell suuuuper far behind on comic work.
After deciding to push back the comic last week I sat down and did some editing work to chapter 1 of Galactic Dragoon Reina along with writing up a bunch of world building lore stuff. Not entirely done with editing chapter 1 but about halfway done. There’s been some details and character reworking that needs to be updated.
Still not entirely sure what I’m gonna do with Reina. It’s been something I’ve thought about trying to get published as a novel whenever I get around to writing all of it, but also kicked around the idea of doing a visual novel for it that gets updated as time goes on. But last week I wondered if that’s what I want to do with the story. Or, more specifically, I’m unsure if I want to go down the route of going all super capitalistic with the story where I worry about trying to find a literary agent and changing shit so as to give it more mass appeal, or set up some other patreon where I draw lewds of characters while updating the game to have a consistent income coming in for it. Like… fucking everything is hustle culture these days and I’m getting tired of it. I already worry about incomes for Bodysuit 23 and Kat, so why load up even more pressure and headaches with ANOTHER project in an effort to try and make a profit on a creative endeavor? The thought honestly makes my stomach churn. Shit’s stressful, yo!
Another issue I’ve had with it was lack of feedback and responses over on the discord servers. I’m not blaming others for getting around to it but my inability to get anything done without constantly worrying if it’s any good or not. So this got me thinking of maybe putting out a small zine containing just the first chapter, which acts as a standalone 10k word short story, plus some of the lore stuff I’ve been writing and some concept artwork/chapter artwork/etc. Something small so as to realistically get it done and give myself a “win” of sorts. A pat on the back for finishing a project. Sure, it’s not the complete story I have in mind, but it’ll give a nice glimpse of this story I’ve been developing slowly since 2017 and finally put it out into the world. And also not worry about it making money or anything, either. I figure I’d make it into a small booklet and then toss it up on Amazon’s print on demand service and make it close to cheap as possible.
I dunno. Kicking around the idea in my head still. Biggest hurdle is figuring out how the dragon spaceship/make would look like as I almost never draw that sort of thing, and that’s been keeping me back in regards to really going for it.

I once was going extremely slowly on my bike, looked at my phone to figure out a route and bumped into a parked truck at what felt like 1 km/h, still somehow bent a part and had to get it repaired. Ridiculous. 😀

Genderfluid people are under the trans umbrella. So saying that Doris is trans is factually correct, but the question is what KIND of trans person is Doris?
It’s rough trying to figure out how to manage time especially when life likes to throw curve balls at ya. It’s also rough being too caught up in your own head to see the bush in-front of you as they can be surprisingly stealthy.

I think Kevin is not so much transsexual as grenderfluid. He also loves being Doris and I think that even after the experiment he will want to be able to live as Doris whenever he wants and can.

Finally, at long last, it’s happening.
Isn’t the whole point of a skinsuit that you don’t have to take meds or surgeries to look like a girl? I don’t see why this whole point about HRT is brought up in the story because any rational person would conclude that the skinsuit is a way better alternative in a universe where those exist.

They don’t really. If anything the bottom-left panel does.
It would be weird if Kevin’s newly found out-of-nowhere gender issues would not be solved by a skinsuit in a skinsuit comic. It makes no sense for Kevin to take the hard, long and expensive way to transition when he has a suit that has already speedrun that process for him.
And if he wants to look different, then dye Doris’ hair or ask Miranda to make a new skinsuit for him or ask her to modify the existing one.
The only issue with your last point is that Miranda can’t just make a new one or modify the current one.
Remember: The bodysuit currently in use is a prototype (model 23 to be exact), and the various tests that are being run on it by Miranda were originally just out of personal drive to finish the project, but are being done with the recent approval of the government again after it was originally deemed a loss at the beginning of the series when Kevin found it.
She can’t make major modifications yet because that would ruin their test data, and making a new one was only possible with funding from the government.
She could probably dye Doris’ hair though, or get a wig for her like when she went to Comicon.

Go out and socialize and make friends? Absolutely, and I would consider anyone who wouldn’t at least try it once to be lacking in curiosity. Agree to be sealed for months? I don’t have the same sort of passive income so I doubt I could- if I were paid for it and if the payment was enough for the disruption to my current career? Probably, assuming I didn’t hate the experience when I was out socializing.
