To be honest, I would be rather on the side of Miranda. I’m someone who rarely go into theater or cinema at all, even though the audio can be really amazing with all the bass and all. I might just dislike people talking during a movie..
Well you buy the original, but the picture quality is crap. Then you buy the re-release in dub, because you suck and haven’t learned Japanese properly. Then you buy the sub, because you’re feeling guilty about not having learned Japanese properly yet. Then you buy an unofficial import from abroad because the American releases censor some shit.
All the DVD releases would have both subs and dubs.
As for Calgiostro; My first copy was the first Manga Entertainment DVD. I then bought the Discotek bluray for the HD master along with it including the Streamline Pictures and Manga Entertainment dubs. Then I bought the 4K UHD HDR bluray for the upgrade in picture quality and HDR. Then I bought the steelbook as it included a new English dub featuring the “standard” dub cast used in most Lupin the Third dubs. I wish it had been a 4k UHD bluray but what can ya do.
Oh, Miranda. It’s the theater experience, that’s why.
