so you’re right but understand canadian houses are built for cold weather. this is texas which tends to be built to be breathable in a desert. not to mention when the temperature goes down it’s not going from a temperature hotter than average canadian summer to snow. it’s not the fact that it’s cold but that it’s an extreme difference. and without the houses being built for it you’re effectively staying outside during this experience, while indoors.
I mean, also note that Miranda wasn’t prepared since they were more familiar with colder weather but didn’t account for the infrastructure and housing to be prepared for colder weather like other places that receive cold weather tends to be.
Lmao Texans are such wusses with winter weather, and this is coming from a fellow Southerner. Arkansas may not be much further north than Texas, but at least we’re actually able to handle snow lmao We’ve gotten up to 2 feet before in combined snow and sleet, and it barely phased anybody here! We just put our trucks into AWD and Tokyo-drift our way to work XD
Texas is a big state. It can be snowing in Abilene and hot and dry in Houston.
Also, the coastal plains usually only gets snow 4 to 5 years or so. Houston’s last measurable snowfall was a second storm on during the 2021 Valentines blackout with the previous being December 2017.
(There’s a technical lie there because the recording station at Bush Intercontinental Airport had a bunch of hail in June 2019 which the NWS counted as snow.)
and to think that where i live we used to have snow going to the knee .. now we barrely have any snow .. like 1 snow day a year and the snow ain’t thinck
Yeah yeah, it’s the one win every other state has over Texas. You aren’t afraid of a little snow. That’s cool. I love watching you all complain about how hot 85 degrees is every year. No joke, I’m in Idaho for the last year and my coworkers were actually complaining that it was "too hot" while I was enjoying a nice nap in the sun. Weak sauce, guys. Weak sauce.
Doesn’t take much to shut down a system that isn’t prepared for it, eh? A little ice here, a little ice there…
In the past few years, the Texas power grid has been showing its barely ready for NORMAL OPERATION….
Does it counts as a Halloween Spooky Story Special?
As a Canadian I feel personally attacked by the claim that that is a lot of snow /j.

Last November, we up here in the Ohio lakeshore region got nearly 3 feet… in six hours.
Good luck Tokyo Drifting through the snow when you can’t even get inside your truck.
Moral of the story: NEver try to one up people on snow. Someone will ALWAYS decimate your story. And odds are, it will be true.
Yes, I say this knowing somebody in a mountain region or the extreme north of Canada, or Scandinavia will come by to top my own story. 😛

Still more snow than I’ve ever experienced IRL…..

you could also say "weakness disgust you"
And Doris is cold why? She’s wearing the bodysuit.
she might not be. I don’t see her shivering and she’s probably just huddled up like that cuz it’s cozy.
Probably the psychological effect. She knows she should be cold, so she is. Same as when she thought she was drunk last chapter.
