This doesn’t affect any of y’all since you’re already part of the patreon, but I’m slightly bumping the cost of the $1 and $5 tiers to $2 and $7 respectively for new members starting in November. It’ll be about 12 years since I launched the patreon with those original prices for those tiers, and inflation has taken a huge bite over time. Income wise the Bodysuit 23 patreon is sitting roughly about how much it was making back in 2018, which according to graphtreon was $858 this time back then whereas today it’s $848. When you put it in the inflation calculator I’m make $282.36 less than back then based off of August 2026’s inflation.
So yeah, bumping it up a tad.
However, as I said, this will only be applied to new members only. So as long as you’re still a patron then you’ll be paying the same price as you are now and nothing changes.
The other tiers will stay the same price.
ANIME:
Started watching Magic Knight Rayearth after starting it 13 years ago and falling off after two episodes. One thing that bothers me is the constant use of chibi. Now, I like chibi. I’m a fan of Dragon Half which uses a LOT of chibi. But something about Rayearth it bothers me. It uses it so much at the drop of a hat even at times when I felt didn’t warrant it. Almost reminds me of a laugh track going “hey this is supposed to be funny so find this hilarious.” I’m only on episode 4 so I’m still way early in it and I like the look of it, but I wish they’d hold back on the chibi seasoning a tad. It’s overpowering the flavor. Maybe down they road they scale back. Guess I’ll find out eventually!

Ngl… Deserved. The real question is: drunk Mads is gonna take it in silence…? I’m scared for Doris. XD
I’m hoping the chase ends with a slapstick moment where Doris opens her door and it slams into Mads knocking her out and that’s how she and Owen have their proper talk (over Mads’ unconscious twitching body)

Please do try to stomach the chibi stuff and watch Rayearth.
I imagine it must be tiresome for you, but it would be a shame if you missed such an amazing story for that detail.
I do not like the Rayearth remake btw.
It’s not terrible? But they waste about 4 minutes adding a visual to getting to Cephiro (now spelled Cefiro in the sub) that didn’t need to be there. In the original, the floor just becomes sky with no explanation besides teleport magic. Here, the floor swallows them up, and we get a sorta quicksand drown frame of Hikaru before they come out the other side. The pacing is very weird. It was unnecessarily slow, it felt like, wasting a great deal of time on them falling.
Panel 5: The idea of the bus pursuit cracks me up especially.
Madison feels like a looney tunes character in an otherwise grounded story. She is well on her way into becoming this comic’s Scrappy-Doo.
Otherwise grounded? Don’t you remember the years long snow storm arc? I think this comic often reaches into the absurd, inherent to its premise. I’m a fan of the ridiculousness.
Oh right. I found that part kind of dull, so I forgot it even happened.
