We’ve come to the end of another chapter! And it’s ending on a down note! Whew!
For this upcoming between chapter break I’m shooting for only a month. Reason it was longer last time was due to it being around the holidays and Kat ending roughly around the same time so I wanted a nice break where I got to do absolutely nothin’! Since there’s no reason to take a longer break I think 4 weeks will be enough. Well, I say that, but truth be told I got zero idea on how the next chapter is gonna go. I got ideas for stuff AFTER this next chapter, but that’s still a bit a ways away. If the break goes on longer then it’s because I couldn’t come up with a good enough outline/script. Wish me luck!
As for what artwork I’m gonna do this break; I’m gonna be working on $40 patreon tier drawings that I’ve been procrastinating for months now. As a warning, this isn’t an invitation for someone to join that tier right now to get a drawing during this break. This will be dedicated to drawings already owed. If you hop on up there be prepared to be waiting for my procrastinating ass for a bit.
I mentioned last week that I was gonna be going to Denton with a friend of mine. Well, we didn’t go. Due to the rain we figured it’d be worth postponing to a later date so as to be able to walk around. Instead we went to this retro video game store with her and her husband. And I gotta say, I don’t think I care to go to retro game stores anymore. It’s fucking depressing. Anything I’m remotely interested in is like $100+ on the low end, jumping upwards to hundreds of dollars. They had shit like Magic Knight Rayearth for $999, Popful Mail for $150, and a boxed copy of Earthbound for $3000. Who the fuck is buying this shit?! Obviously nobody since it’s still at the store, but goddamn! Just completely zaps the joy from me, reminding me I’m too poor to enjoy the shit I used to. Or at least enjoy it on actual hardware. Thankfully emulation exists.
Afterward we went to Grandscape or whatever and checked out the gachapon store. It was neat, though honestly wasn’t much I was interested in. I’m sure I would’ve loved it back when I was a teenager/early 20s and still watching new seasonal stuff as it aired. Wound up spending $15 trying and failing to get a small Gouf model kit and a Snufkin keychain, which is proudly hanging on my bag. Then we went to this ice cream sandwich place where I spent $14 on six cookies, only to get to the front and saw that they had a dozen day old cookies for $13. The cookies were good, but man! I could’ve had double the cookies for half the cost! Lesson learned.
After getting food we went back to their house and watched half of His and Her Circumstances while dranking and tried to find the photo from the Taylor Swift concert held at my high school back in 2007 that I was forced to go to due to being in band. According to my high school’s facebook page it exists, but we flipped through a couple of the books and then gave up. While the retro game store visit was depressing all in all it was a fun day! Always nice hanging out with my friends.
Anywho, that’s it for this week. I hope you enjoyed this chapter of Bodysuit 23 and look forward to the next one in a month or so! Laters!

At least she got her Dr Pepper
But with the Zero Sugar, it all feels empty.
Nearly 1000 for magic knight rayearth and 3 grand for Earthbound? Why?! Who would ever spend that much money on such a thing? And what are they thinking asking for those kinds of prices?
Viva le capitalism, I gues…
$3000?!? Dude, at that point, you should understand emulation is a thing. Being hung up on the nostalgia is one thing, but you shouldn’t pay that much for a game. That ceases to be capitalism, and becomes bribing scalpers to bring back the past. You were overcharged!
my friend spent 264$ on the gold zelda nintendo cartrige. i have 3 copies that ive picked up over the years like bruh
Yeesh. I spent like $10 on my copy.
Yeah, that retro game store sounds like one of the “nerd stuff” stores near me. Everything is far too expensive for what it is.
CDRomance abides by the abandonware laws in this country. They only release games that aren’t under the license for consoles or whatever. “Disclaimer: This website is dedicated to raising awareness of fan-made mods, translations, and the legacy of retro games. All names, trademarks, logos, and images are registered trademarks of their respective owners. This website adheres to the DMCA law. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.” See?
Which means you won’t get any PS3 or Switch emulation, but it does mean that if you want a slice of nostalgia, you don’t have to feel bad about being poor.
But you totally should get Magic Knight Rayearth. You can get season one on DVD (might be a reprint) for $34 and season two for $49 on Amazon. As for Earthbound, they are charging $653 for a renewed copy.
As for that antique shop, that’s not a business you should patronize if they charge that much. Part of capitalism is supply and demand. If they have the supply but nobody wants to pay that, they have unsold merch.
Holy shit I just dumped like 50+ on a game I got like a month ago I think I’m developing an addiction
Tell me about it. I made the mistake of dropping a Benjamin on Runescape again for nostalgia, thinking I might have a chance to sustain membership with bonds in endgame, but there’s no way. And I’m definitely not gonna put any more money into that sh^thole company.
You GOTTA tell her, I just read this entire thing in the past couple of days and I’m ALREADY dying of needing you to tell her Doris, please!
