December 17th, 2025

When drawing this I figured I’d go back and draw Kevin crossplaying as Mahoro again like maaaany years ago. And to not leave Elaine out of the fun I had her cosplay as May from Hand Maid May!

I’m 36 years old now! One year away from 37! In less than a year I’ll have one year to spend making references to Clerks nonstop!

All weekend long I ate like shiiiiit, getting Freebirds twice, a pizza from pizza hut, and TWO cakes! One was this small cookie dough layered cake from Tom Thumb that was alright. I got it to try something new. Didn’t wow me as much as I had hoped. Then I got one of those large ass double layered cookie cakes from Sam’s Club that was the bomb. Every time I try getting a different style of cake I always fall back to wanting cookie cake. I ate a couple slices of it and woof! Delicious but super sugary!

I brought the cake to weekly doodle club and shared it there, and even then there was still a lot left over. Then Tuesday I brought it to work where it was thankfully eaten up by coworkers so as not to temp me to eat the rest. Everyone thought it was homemade and was shocked when I said “nah shit’s from Sam’s Club.”

ANIME TALK:

I watched Photon: The Idiot Adventures last week after scrolling through Crunchyroll and not liking anything that was coming up. I had bought the bluray a while back and figured now was a good time as ever to put it on.

Man that was a fun little OVA! Can’t believe I slept on it for these past couple of decades! Like, I had been aware of its existence but the cover never did anything for me, especially due to the fact the protagonist is some crybaby looking kid. But holy hell was the animation top tier! Late 90s cel animation that at times goes way harder than it has any right to! It also got genuine laughs out of me! It’s also very loosely tied to the Tenchi Muyo franchise but honestly it’s so far removed it might as well not be outside of having the same visual style with its character designs, aesthetics, and spacecrafts.

If you want a fun, dumb, 6 episode long series that’s a quick self-contained story that wraps up pretty well this is one to check out! It’s still streaming on Crunchyroll and elsewhere I believe.

And that’s all for this week! I will see you all next week for what will be the last update of 2025? Okay no there’s still two more weeks. I’ll probably post the update on the 31st shortly after I get out of work before I head over to a friend’s for our annual new years get together. Anywho bye byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

theory: Elaine is going to put 2 and 2 together

    1. J.B. Vibri says:

It would be a good way to increase drama, and Kevin is enough of an idiot to make it happen so yeah

    2. Samantha says:

We need her to put two and two together like in Mechanical Marie tho, and immediately decide to never let Doris figure out she knows.

  2. ReasonableWeeb says:

I have a feeling that after thinking of that Kevin scene, Elaine is gonna put two and two together immediately following that. She’ll hear Kevin’s usual procrastination speech, see his mannerisms, and be like: “Wait a minute. KEVIN!?” and then because he’s Kevin and has no poker face whatsoever, he’s gonna blow the secret and have to loop her into the whole plot. Something I guarantee Miranda isn’t going to be happy about. Give or take a 50/50.

She might be happy to just know that Kevin doesn’t know anyone else to loop into the project, at least nobody in his immediate vicinity. And of course she’ll be annoyed and frustrated that the ‘secret project’ keeps getting out person by person.

I agree with people saying that Kevin is being basically himself that Elaine might get curious but come on let’s be real, you wouldn’t see a blonde girl acting like your best friend and be like “Oh you must be the same person”.

That said, Kevin is known to cross-dress so that might be what tips it for Elaine.

  4. Zoinks! says:

I suspect the big tip-off will be when Kevin is nowhere to be found this week.

(How many months are we into Miranda’s experiment?)

    Clerks or Monty Python.

  6. Whitehawk Omega says:

I too made many a Clerks reference when I was 37, which was….. gods, 9 years ago?! I don’t like this inexorable march of time business…

    1. Sensei Le Roof says:

Well, right now, it’s only the inexorable January of time…
