So for my choice I decided to be lazy and do double duty by making a new cover for Kat for the Webtoons 2025 contest.
Turns out you can simply resubmit a Canvas comic you already work on so for shits n giggles I’m reposting Kat with a new prologue and reworked episodes so as to meet the 15 panel minimum requirement for comedy comics. As I was doing that I got talking to Cooper about what to do for a cover. I didn’t want to use the old cover since it didn’t portray the action aspect of the comic, and the cover currently has chapter 2 stuff with Dallas and Taru so that wouldn’t work.
After a couple hours of back and forth and doodling ideas down we decided to do a cover that just features Kat with a more detailed zoomed in shot of her. For one nobody really sees the covers anyway unless Webtoons decides to show it in their tiny selection of weekly choices, so why bother going up and beyond for it? The most important part is the tiny square thumbnail that WILL be seen by everyone. Hence why the extra work put in Kat’s head.
Also, I decided to submit the comic as a partnership with Cooper so as to split the winnings if we do manage to win.
If y’all would like to support us, 40% of the judging criteria is engagement from readers. I plan to start posting it later tonight with a “new” episode every day around noon using their scheduling system. Liking chapters, leaving comments, following the comic, sharing it with other people will help Cooper and I a lot and we’d appreciate it if you do!
