I should really standardize how I write the date, huh?
I did the math after finishing the page. The day I finished the page Miranda said she was going home to today was exactly 450 days. HO-LY SHIT! First off, that’s a long time! I went through two winter storms in the time it took Miranda and Doris to reach the condo! Second, what a very nice number to land one! I couldn’t have planned that if I tried!
Sure, there’s still the last few pages before the arc wraps up, but as of this page they’re at the condo! No additional adventures to be had! No more adversaries to get in the way! And no, I’m not going to have the power go out on them when they’re inside because, ya know what? They deserve the warmth after all the shit they went through to get here. No anticlimatic joke from me this time around!
In other news I sent my resume to a couple places up in Vermont! Let’s see how that goes!
Since the chapter is coming to a close and I need some time to figure out how all the next chapter is gonna go I’m debating what all should I do in the mean time. Honestly I’d like to take a month to relax a bit from doing entire comic pages but wondering if that would be too long a break. I’ll also go back to doing pinups during the break, most likely Patreon/PixivFANBOX submitted ideas like usual. Since I won’t be doing a full comic page maybe I can go back to doing two uploads a week during the month, so about 8ish pinups if I take a whole month. There’s still a few weeks before that gets decided. I’ll let y’all know.

No seriously. How? Wasn’t this comic supposed to be about some weird weeb nerd guy who gets a gender bending bodysuit and shenanigans ensue? How does Texas Apocalypse Blizzard and Sciencey Ice Cream Out Of Nowhere Ice Cream Truck Duck Laser fit into that narrative?
I swear, no disrespect to you or your work since it’s all drawn fabulously, but it feels like we lost the narrative like 2-3 chapters ago. I had hoped that by page 1,000 we might’ve gotten to see more of Elaine or Kevin finally coming clean to her about the double life after Miranda begrudgingly agrees, or something more pertaining to the bodysuit itself like Kevin trying to lay low after some agency finds out that the suit is in his town and they’re looking for two Miranda’s to find out who has the suit, thus putting both of them at risk.
Just feels like there’s no stakes and it’s taken the route from slice of life to fantasy RPG in a matter of pages. This isn’t the same Bodysuit23 that I started reading all the way back in the first 500 pages. I….I don’t even know what this is.
If it helps matters the final page of this went up on Patreon yesterday. Doing a two month patron submitted ideas pinups break while I take a rest/get ready for the next chapter which will go back to being slice of life.
I guess that helps? Still though, this last chapter has been one head scratch after another. Still funny though. That bit with the wastelander guy just falling to his death after stating how they couldn’t escape was funny, and I can’t imagine any other voice for him other than some gruff meathead type.
Speaking of voices, what are your headcanon voices for the characters? I think I asked this before, but that was probably damn near 600 pages ago.
Daphne’s voice would be Kayli Mills’ Clara from Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun.
That’s an interesting choice. I have to say the first time I saw her I envisioned her having something of a smoker’s voice for some reason, like with a more gruff tone. I don’t know, perhaps it was the fact she’s mostly depicted with sharper teeth and is highly aggressive in most scenarios, I always figured her for the more gruff tone of voice.
I can’t tell if that makes her character funnier or not though, that she’s this big (relatively speaking) tough chick with a ‘kick your ass any time any day’ attitude, yet she sounds like a proper mom figure with a softer tone of voice. Like I get the feeling someone would get very mixed signals if she went all flirt mode and said something like: “I’m going to squeeze you so hard your eyes will pop out” and her significant other can’t decide if it was a flirty comment or a threat. Heh.
Huh, interesting. My headcanon for Daphne at least has always been Grey DeLisle, along the lines of her Vicky voice but slightly gruffer
