I really don’t understand americans. The car centric world is weird and unlogical, they can’t even go for a run "becouse there are to many cars" so they DRIVE to go for a run.
Outside of major cities with adequate public transit things are spread out enough that you really need a vehicle of your own, suburban sprawl is a real thing, you would have a 15-30 mile commute to work as well as businesses in which to buy your everyday needs. the US just doesn’t have the infrastructure in place to support most people not having cars, also, it’s sheer size, everything is more spread out and population density quickly drops once you leave major cities.
And….Doris fell asleep. Well at least they had a brief conversation before she went back to dreamland.
Now we wait and see if she yells at her to wake up, or gently prods her awake in the next comic.
