You know, Doris and Owen have only done things that normal friends do — hanging out, grabbing dinner, that sort of thing, nothing really intimate or especially date-only territory. I doubt there’s any transphobia in their upcoming interaction, but I fully expect them to break off the dating aspect.
Unless, of course, Owen wants to be a real dick and hide the fact that he knows, pretending to hyperaccelerate the romance to punish Kevin and make him uncomfortable enough to give himself up.
Somehow I don’t see Owen being "a real dick" about it; that doesn’t seem in character for him. (For Madison, on the other hand, it would be TOTALLY in character. Dickery seems to be her style. But of course, she doesn’t know about any of this. We hope.)
But you’re right about Doris and Owen having only done "normal friend" things. The "romantic" angle in their relationship has been purely in the imaginations of those who keep trying to read more into that friendship. I just wonder if the friendship will survive. Only time–and Mega–will tell.
So will this ruin the dynamics between Owen and Doris?
Because at this point in the story, its looking like he is going to have to come clean to both Angela and Owen. With only Elaine being left in the dark regarding Kevin’s disguise.
Unless some reality changing event happens to erase Angela and Owen’s memories about the Bodysuit, then things are not going to be the same anymore after they reach the convention center and confront Kevin.
Still, I wonder how he will explain things to Angela? Or will Miranda have to step in to cover that?
Owen now needs a way to get Kevin to admit that he is wearing the suit without him revealing his actual work. He might get lucky and encounter Kevin unmasked with Angela. It will be interesting to see all of them together. Owen will probably just honestly claim that he is just the transport person.
This is also a great time to introduce a new character if Elaine (still at the convention), shows up with a cosplayer that she met after Kevin left her there.
Just remember, Owen, whatever you may be thinking of Kevin/Doris at the moment, your dog really likes him/her. And vice versa. That’s definitely a good character reference. 🙂
I’m liking it, good work so far.
He now realizes he’s been dating a guy
To be fair, that’s a big ol ‘kinda’.
Miranda: Better just ask him yourself.
Owen: (in his mind) Aaaaaaand there goes my one and only ‘girl’ friend. (sigh) god dammit….-.-
Romantic tensions ensue…
Ohhhh shit. Now this is really interesting, can’t wait to see how Kevin explains himself. Here we go…
im thinking running from the problem is more kevin’s m.o.
oof poor Owen… he now realizes that he’s been dating a guy in a suit for the past… 463 pages? Man, that’s a lotta time and chapters!

What a time to start reading this.
