She does lack tact, but, she definitely to the point and just exactly what there relationship is to each other is. I suppose that she does have to keep a certain amount of emotional distance from Kevin/Doris, because, that is the only way that she can be an effective scientist doing there experiments on a test subject and those are the same ruled with having someone that look like them too, which is what some of the other people were yelling about on the last post of Bodysuit. For doing her project, Miranda seem to have her priority in the right order and has come to terms what her relationship to Kevin/Doris should be, but, it is kind of cold for Kevin to accept.
As detached as Miranda is trying to be so that she can do what she needs to do and do it effectively as possible, we still don’t know what kind of attachment that Miranda has developed with Kevin/Doris or what attachment that Miranda will be developing with Kevin/Doris in the future either.
You can call Miranda many things like detached from emotional involvement with Kevin/Doris, she has a single mindedness when it comes to her project and keeping her emotions in check so she can do what she want to do here. She see Kelvin like you would see a lab rat or genning pig or maybe slightly better, but, not much better. He doesn’t even rate as a colleague even. That why everyone saying that Miranda is cold to Kelvin, she got ice in her veins and not blood.
Now that I think about it, Kevin’s putting himself at a LOT of risk here? Possibly moreso than Miranda. This is an untested prototype. No one knows what the long-term effects of wearing the bodysuit could be. Could give him cancer for all we know. Maybe he’s dead by age 50. (And yes, because someone’s going to say it, there is a theoretical chance that long-term wearing could cause permanent, girlifying changes in Kevin, given the soft science of the comic. But I highly doubt it.)
I don’t think he’s smart enough to have realized this, but he does deserve quite a bit of respect on that front.
